Crafty Pants Friday {8} Book Page Wreath

Pin It I have seen sooooo many adorable wreaths made with book pages or sheet music, and I had to have one. I love them. They're so unique, and as I discovered when I made mine, its not exactly easy. I mean, its not hard. Just time consuming. You have to have some patience. So if that doesn't sound like you, or the type of project you enjoy, then this project wouldn't be for you.

Of course, it would also depend on how big the wreath is. If you did a small one, it probably wouldn't be so bad. But I did a 14 inch wreath, so it took me a while. But I loooove my end result.

Isn't it fantastic?! I used a tutorial that I found here. Now, don't worry. I didn't use some literary work of art. I used some cheap book, and I even read a little of it to absolve my guilt over ripping it up.

I have a bit of a dilemma though. I'm not sure where to put it. The spot that I originally had picked out for it doesn't really work. The wreath is too big. So right now I have it hanging on a wall next to my kitchen. And it looks pretty good...

See? Large and in charge. But like I said, I used a 14 inch wreath form. I plan on making more in different sizes as well. But I'm thinking now that I might hang it in my sons room above his book shelf. We shall see.

I have so many ideas in mind for making these wreaths with words. They are just so neat to look at. And have I mentioned before that I may be a little *obsessed* with wreaths? Cause I am. My husband may have to hold an intervention at some point... But until then, there may be a wreath on every door in our house (not really, but that would be kinda cool, ha!)!

Well, that's about all. Enjoy the rest of your Crafty Pants Friday! Spring Break is calling my name!

Oh, and I love wreaths.

Until next time....

Movin it Monday {6}

Pin It Happy Movin it Monday to ya! Its bright and shiny and gorgeous outside! It has been such awesome weather outside, and Ive been having a lot of fun taking walks with my son around our apartment complex. He loves to be outside. No matter how cranky he is, if I take him outside, he just looks around and oohs and ahhs. Which makes me super happy.

One of the biggest reasons I want to get healthy again is because of him and the kind of family I want to have. I want us to all be active together and enjoy being outdoors. But I cant do that if I'm overweight and out of shape. And I want to lead by example. I don't want to be a fat mom and be preaching to my kids about being healthy and eating right. That just doesn't work.

And that quote says it all. You can't just go on a diet and lose the weight and then go back to how you were eating before. Guess what's gonna happen? All the weight will come back. You have to completely readjust your lifestyle in order to really make a change.

So this week we are working on legs and butt. Ive got some good moves for you.

Perform each of these moves at it says on the chart, and do them all in a row. This is one circuit. Perform two of these back to back with no more than a minute or two in between the circuits.

Pair this with some walking or other form of cardio and you will be having yourself a good week! You will actually want to get on the scale!

Healthy Tip: Do not weigh yourself every day. Your weight fluxuates and in order to keep yourself from obsessing, you only need to weigh once a week. Pick a day, I weigh in on Sunday, and weigh yourself that morning after you've gone to the bathroom. This is your 'dry weight'. Don't weigh yourself at the end of the night since your body is still processing everything you ate. This really will help you stay a little more sane about your weight.

Well I hope you have been enjoying these workouts! Let me know how it goes, and if you have any suggestions or a certain topic/workout you would like me to talk about.

Until next time...
