Movin It Monday {8}

Alright ladies, its time to get serious. You were serious before? Me too. But I mean, seriously busy. There is a huge holiday coming up, maybe you've heard of it. It's called my birthday. There are six weeks until my birthday. My goal by then is really just to be as in shape as possible by that point. There will be no crash dieting here, no miracle gimmicks. Just sweat, blood, and tears left on the weight room floor. Cause that's what it takes.

My First Award!

I recently got an email from Kristin over at Gratefull Belly, and was so surprised when she informed me that she was passing on the Liebster Award to me. The award is for up and coming bloggers with less than 200 followers... And she liked this little blog of mine enough to give me an award for it! My first, woot!

Crafty Pants Friday {9} Moss Bunny and Egg Wreath Tutorial
Pin It
Are you a big Easter decorator? This is the first time that I've ever decorated for it. I don't usually care for all the pastels, but I found a way to make it work for me this year. And after I saw this at Less Than Perfect Life of Bliss, I knew exactly what I wanted to cover in moss.

Movin it Monday {7}

Hello and happy Monday! What is so happy about this Monday you ask? Well, its Spring Break! Woot Woot! That means partying on the beach, flirting with frat guys, drinking all day while laying in the sun, and no sleep due to excessive partying....
Oh wait. No, no. Sorry. I got that wrong. Spring Break baby! That means waking up at 7 with my son, spending the day with him, runnig errands, cleaning around the house, trying out new recipes, and maybe a glass of wine or two, and bed time nice and early, around 10 pm. Or maybe midnight if Im feeling a little rebelious. Yup. That sounds more like it. :)
*Anyways*. Now just because its spring break doesnt mean that we get to slack off on our workouts. You thought I was gonna let you off the hook this week, didnt you? Well, no mam! Its time to work even harder! Summer will be creeping up, and before you know it, tank tops, short shorts, and bikinis will be staring you in the face.
So in lieu of that fact, we will be working on arms this week.
I know we all hate that arm pit fat, so here are some exercises that can help shape up that area. Now, you need to keep in mind that you cannot 'spot' lose weight. We can do exercises for specific areas to gain muscle which helps tone us up and fill us out. But overall, youre not just going to lose weight in your arms. You will gain muscle.
Want some fantastic arms like Jennifer Anniston? Go here for the video to see the moves you will be performing. Combine this workout with the moves above, and you will have those arms looking fantastic in no time flat!
I hope you enjoy your spring break, and I will see you for Crafty Pants Friday!

Savory Sunday {9}

Happy Sunday! How has your weekend been? My sister and I drove up with my son to visit my Aunt and Uncle for a few days... You know, since its spring break and all. Woot!
So have you tried any fun recipes lately? There is one that I have been wanting to try for a while.... Stuffed Bell Peppers. Whenever I see pictures of someones recipe for them, it always look delicious, and I knew that I could make them healthy.
And I was right! These bad boys were only 7 points a piece and were super filling!
Stuffed Bell Peppers:
4 green bell peppers
1 cup of fat free (or low fat) blended cheeses, divided
Turkey sausage
1 medium onion
Brown rice or Spanish rice
Salt and pepper to taste
First, preheat your oven to 375 degrees farenheit. Then cut the tops off of the bell peppers, and pull out the stems and rinse the inside out to get rid of seeds. I also cut up part of the tops that I cut off to put into the turkey sausage mixture.
Next, cut up your onion. Go ahead and cook your rice while youre browning the turkey sausage. Once the sausage is cooked, add the onion and chopped up bell pepper. Cook for about three minutes.
Now add the rice and 1/2 a cup of the cheese you have set aside. Cook for another 2 minutes or so, just to get the mixture all heated through and so the cheese gets melty.
Now you will spoon the mixture into the bell peppers and pop them into the oven for about 30 minutes. I cooked mine for about 25, pulled them out and sprinkled the remaining cheese on top of the peppers, and then put them back in for the last few minutes so the cheese on top would melt.
Tah-Dah! Delicioso! These were fantastic, and my husband loved them. Shhh, dont tell him they werer healthy! This was a really hearty meal, and we paired it with a salad. These also reheated well the next day. But I wouldnt stick them in the microwave because the pepper will get a little rubbery. Heat your oven to 350, and put them in for about 15 or 20 minutes, or until the cheese on top is bubbly.
I hope you liked these! Now go get your low point meal on!
Until next time...
